About my blog

JakeHi

Welcome to my blog. I’m Jake.

This blog stems from a weekly email I used to send to friends and fellow tech heads.
I spend so much of my time checking out new gadgets or searching the net for cool tech and science news.

It seemed a shame to keep it all to myself. Besides, the only thing I like as much as finding a new, super cool gadget is letting my friends know about them. The obvious next step was to create a blog where everyone can read about my discoveries and where people can share their thoughts and opinions.

Not too long ago – maybe ten years or so – only a few, quite technically-minded, people were really interested in this stuff. But today most people are gadget freaks, even if they don’t realize it.
If you’re craving the latest cellphone with a billion megapixel camera and corkscrew attachment or want to swap your mp3 player for a pink one with a GPS, you’re probably more of a geek than you realize.

Which is great! I’m proud to be a geek and you should be too.

I’ll also bring you news about cool science. From weird natural phenomena to the incredible work of nuclear physicists, I’m always looking for news that will blow your mind.

Another great thing about a blog is it’s more than just words. I’ll bring you videos, crazy science demonstrations and whatever else I think you’ll find interesting.

I love riddles and brain teasers. Keep an eye out for new games and tech quizzes. And be sure to let me know what you think.

Finally, I’ll bring you some tech news from a South Africa viewpoint.  Don’t we all get excited enough about our own amazing inventions. From a merry-go-round that pumps water to global open source software, SA science is changing the world.
But most of all, I look forward to hearing from you.

Join me in the SA geek revolution!
